This Privacy Policy applies to any visitor or user of the website located at www.Africa360 and any websites (singularly and collectively, “the Site”) that Africa360 Degrees or its subsidiaries (singularly and collectively, “Africa360 Degrees”) own or control. Africa360 Degrees is sensitive to the issue of confidentiality in online dealings and is committed to protecting individual privacy. This Privacy Policy is intended to inform users about the general approach Africa360 Degrees uses in collecting, using and disseminating user information via the Site. Our information collection policy is described below:

  1. What Personally Identifiable Information May Be Collected?

1.1          At Africa360 Degrees, our policy is to create website content that requires minimal collection of personally identifiable information from our visitors. However, to respond to requests or to enable visitors to register or to use certain features of our Sites, we may request personally identifiable information including, but not limited to, the visitor’s name, home address, email address and telephone number. We do not collect any more personally identifiable information than is reasonably necessary to enable participation in our activities.

1.2          When we collect personally identifiable information, we only keep it until that particular activity (or set of actions) is complete. Generally, personally identifiable information will not be given out to third parties not affiliated with Africa360 Degrees; however, from time to time, we may transfer, disclose or share personally identifiable information with third parties who may be engaged by us specifically to handle and deliver certain online activities, including, but not limited to, usage of Amazon Web Services. Such parties will have access to the personally identifiable information needed to perform these functions but may not use it for other purposes.

1.3          Africa360 Degrees may use the Site as an entry into other networked web pages and websites operated by Africa360 Degrees and its subsidiaries and affiliates (together, the “Transaction Sites. Please note that individual Transaction Sites may adopt privacy terms particular to the purpose of such Transaction Sites or the transaction(s) taking place on such Transaction Sites. Transaction Sites are generally affiliated with commercial transactions that a visitor or business may have with Africa360 Degrees, particularly those password-protected or subject to subscriptions. Please understand that the privacy terms for such sites may differ through terms in separate agreements, which may supplement or supersede these terms.

  1. Other Types of Information That May Be Collected

2.1          IP Addresses. An Internet protocol address, or IP address, is automatically assigned to a computer when it accesses the Internet and is used by web servers to identify specific computers. When a visitor accesses our Site, we may log the IP address. However, the visitor’s identity will remain anonymous to us. We log the IP addresses for system administration and auditing our Site’s use. We may also use IP addresses to collect statistical information for marketing and other purposes.

2.2          Cookies or Tracers. Occasionally, we may place information on user computers to allow us to identify them. This information is known as a “cookie”. We will only use cookies to view information on the user’s computer’s hard drive placed there by a cookie from our Site. However, a cookie will not allow our Site to learn any personally identifiable information that has not been disclosed (except as described below). By understanding how and when our visitors use the Site, we can continually improve our Site and our products and services. If a visitor wishes to disable cookies, the browser can be reset to refuse all cookies or indicate when a cookie is being sent. Sometimes, we use tracking scripts or “tracers” that recognise a unique identifier from a cookie placed on a hard drive by another website. These are used by Africa360 Degrees solely to gauge its performance. For instance, we may use a tracer to determine whether visitors access our employment pages after visiting a resume or career site where Africa360 Degrees placed a banner ad. We do not use tracers to gather information on the Internet unrelated to Africa360 Degrees. Please note that Africa360 Degrees does not use tracers to determine personally identifiable information, and visitors remain anonymous.

2.3          Web Beacons. Web beacons are small files that we may place on our Site, which count the number of unique users that have visited a specific page on the Site and the number of times a given page has been displayed. This information is collected only in the aggregate and is generally not linked to any personally identifiable information (except as described below).

2.4          Registration. Registration may be allowed or required on the Site. Please refer to the agreements and policies applicable to the Site for which registration information is entered. In addition, africa360 Degrees may collect registration data to monitor compliance with this Privacy Policy and set up access permissions to certain other pages on the Site.

3.1          Africa360 Degrees and its affiliates may use and disclose personally identifiable information only as set forth herein. Anonymous data collected using cookies and web beacons may be analysed in the aggregate to determine collective user characteristics and to understand user traffic patterns, sales information and user behaviour on the Site. Such information may also be shared in the aggregate with third parties to enhance our Site, our products and services, and analyse how and where best to use our resources.

3.2          Although Africa360 Degrees is under no obligation to monitor the Site, we may observe, store, review and disclose to third parties any information, including personally identifiable information, obtained on or through the Site as may be needed or requested to satisfy any applicable governmental law, regulation, investigation or proceeding. Additionally, we may use IP addresses to identify a particular user if we believe it is needed to enforce compliance with these terms or to protect our company, employees, Site, or customers.

  1. Security of Personally Identifiable Information

4.1          While Africa360 Degrees tries to prevent third-party, non-affiliate access to personally identifiable information, please remember that data transmission over the Internet is not 100% secure. Any information disclosed online can potentially be collected and used other than by the intended recipient. Therefore, given the preceding, Africa360 Degrees cannot warrant that personally identifiable information will not be disclosed to or accessed by parties other than those authorised under this Privacy Policy.

  1. Updates to Provided Information

5.1          Upon request, Africa360 Degrees will make reasonable efforts to update, change or delete any personally identifiable information provided. However, to enforce the terms of this Privacy Policy, resolve disputes, or provide information to satisfy applicable governmental laws, regulations, investigations or proceedings, we may need to retain personally identifiable information in our files. Additionally, personally identifiable information may be retained in residual backup files that are a function of our network’s backup systems.

6.1          Occasionally, visitors will find links from our Site to independently owned, controlled, and managed websites whose content we believe will be of possible interest and value to our visitors.

6.2          Often, these links represent cooperative projects or mutual links established with the organisations connected with these sites. We don’t control the content of the sites accessed via these links. These other sites may send their cookies, collect data, or solicit personal information. While we identify other links on our Site, we do not control these cookies or the content of these third parties.

6.3          Once a user/visitor leaves our servers, the use of any information provided is governed by the operator’s privacy policy of the site being visited. That policy may differ from ours. If the privacy policy of any of these sites cannot be assessed via a link from that site’s home page, contact that website operator directly for more information.
